This park offers the most unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower and is a perfect place to set up a picnic for the day. We stopped at a local grocery store to grab some charcuterie, cheese, and a bottle of wine and laid out a picnic. This moment was so magical, relaxing underneath the Eiffel Tower. We loved this experience so much we came back for a champagne and macaron sunset picnic a couple days later!
This famous street has a beautiful view of the Eiffel with traditional Parisian buildings and greenery in the foreground. However, its a VERY popular spot for photos, so get here early if you don’t want a ton of people in the background. (I did not get here early, as you can tell.)
Arc de Triomphe
Yet another famous piece of architecture in Paris, the Arc de Triomphe stands tall right at the western end of Champs Elysses. The Arc is fairly central, we actually passed it quite frequently during our time in Paris. While the Arc looks pretty incredible in photos, it’s even more breathtaking in person – it’s MASSIVE.
Pont de l'Alma Bridge
We used this major bridge nearly every day when walking around Paris, and it showcases a beautiful view of the Eiffel over the water.Β
There are quite a few locals lined up along this bridge selling touristy items such as light up Eiffel Towers – but they mostly kept to themselves and didn’t try to push their goods onto us.
Girafe Restaurant
Okay – another Eiffel Tower spot, but can you blame me?
Starting after sunset, the Eiffel Towers sparkles for one minute every hour on the hour. You can see the phenomenon from the park below, but it gets slap-full of tourists. For a more intimate view of the Eiffel, I recommend getting a reservation at a table here. It’s also a beautiful view during the daytime as well!
Notre Dame cathedral is one of the most recognized in the world. It’s under construction right now after a large fire so you can’t enter, but it’s still worth it to see the beautiful exterior of this massive cathedral.
Versailles
Worth just over fifty billion dollars, Versailles is a monstrosity of a palace. Every room here is well kept, the sprawling gardens don’t have a single grass out of place, and half of the palace seems to be made of gold. Versailles is absolutely stunning. It takes quite a while to get through, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes and are well hydrated beforehand!
My favorite spots in the palace: the front entrance, the Hall of Mirrors, and the gardens.
Sacre Couer
My favorite spot here is in front of the carousel, but the photos taken from the hill above are amazing too. This is the highest point in Paris so you get a great viewpoint of the whole city from here!
The Streets of Montmartre
Montmartre is full of beautiful streets and buildings. It’s home to the insta-famous Le Maison Rose, Le Consulat, and Pink Mamma. The Sacre Couer is also located in Montmartre – so be prepared to load up on photos when you visit!
Montmartre was one of my favorites in Paris – it just feels so trendy and unique. While the buildings still have the classic Parisian feel, the pops of color and florals around every corner make Montmartre just feel extra special.
