Any street you walk down in Paris is guaranteed to be lined with beautiful cafés. There are so many to choose from, but here is a list of all my favorite cafés in Paris!
Café de Flore
One of the most famous cafés in Paris, Café de Flore is on nearly every list you find when you google “cafés in Paris”. There’s also a good chance you’ve seen photos of it on Instagram. Café de Flore’s fame dates back to the 1940s and 50s, where famous writers would spend hours inside working and socializing. This beautiful café is located in St. Germain, and while it does get quite busy, it was my favorite café we visited in Paris.
Les Deux Magots
Right across the street from Café de Flore, Les Deux Magots is the other most famous café in Paris. The two actually have a life-long rivalry between them for which is the MOST famous. Les Deux Magots was also a popular spot for many artists and writers, so much so that they actually started their own literary prize. However, this fame comes with quite long lines – so be prepared to wait a while for a table.
Carette
Carette is known for their hot chocolate and pastries (especially their macarons). It’s located in the 16th Arrondissement and is a short walk to the Eiffel Tower. This is one of the only cafés in Paris that serves non-dairy milk!
Café Marly
This upscale café boasts a beautiful view of the Louvre Museum. It’s a bit less casual than other cafés in Paris, and I would actually recommend making a reservation to make sure you can get a table outside. The food here was absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed the espresso and wine as well!
Café du Trocadero
If you’d like to enjoy a cup of coffee while enjoying the view of the Eiffel Tower, this café is for you. This café is located in a touristy area (of course, if it’s near the Eiffel), but this can make for quite some interesting people watching. I didn’t try the coffee here, but their rosé was incredible!
Le Consulat
Tiny but adorable, Le Consulat is easily the cutest café in Paris. It’s located in the beautiful neighborhood of Montmartre and has a great view of the busy streets. Get here early to snag a table, it fills up fast!
Angelina
Angelina Paris is famed for having the best hot chocolate in the world. Opened in the 1900s, Angelina has earned a name for itself with its incredibly rich and indulgent hot chocolate. The lines here do get quite long, especially during the busy season, so be prepared to wait!
Le Precope
Holding the title of the oldest café in Paris, Le Precope opened its doors in 1686. Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon, and Thomas Jefferson all stepped foot inside. While there’s no outside seating and its less trendy than others on this list, its claim as the oldest café earns it a visit.
Le Nemours
Located just steps away from the Louvre, Le Nemours is a perfect spot to grab a coffee and croissant in the midst of sightseeing in Paris. Since its in such a touristy area, it makes for great people-watching. Le Nemours is a favorite for locals and tourists alike.
