You’ll see the best weather in the summer months of June, July, and August. Summers are mild, with temperatures of about 15-20°C (59-68°F), and the sun stays up for quite a while as Denmark is quite north (around 17 hours a day in the summer).
For fewer crowds and helping prevent overtourism, I recommend visiting during the shoulder seasons (April-May and September-October). I visited in October and it was wonderful autumn weather.
I do recommend avoiding the winter as it gets quite cold and rainy, and the sun is only up for about six hours of the day.
Getting Around
In Copenhagen, it is easy to get around on foot or a bike for short distances. You can also purchase a Copenhagen Card for metro and bus travel, plus entry into many attractions.
If traveling outside of Copenhagen, you will find trains to be the easiest mode of transport! Most of Denmark’s main cities are well connected by train, so a rental car is generally unnecessary.
Travel Requirements
A passport with at least six months of validity.
