The United States is so large with so much diversity – there’s not really one best time to visit!
The beaches are best in the summers (June – September) with warm weather and waters. Coastal cities like Charleston and Los Angeles are booming this time of year!
National Parks experience their peak season in the fall and early winter (October – December), and ski resorts of Colorado and Jackson Hole are best in the winters when a soft blanket of snow coats the mountains.
Getting Around
Every state is different, but I would generally recommend renting a car in most areas of the United States. This allows you the freedom to explore on your own and is generally cheaper than using taxi or Uber. This does not apply to large cities with vast public transportation, such as New York City!
Travel Requirements
If you are traveling from outside of the US, you will need a passport with at least six months of validity, regardless how long you will be staying for!

SUSTAINABLE + ETHICAL TRAVEL IN THE USA
Stay in hotels with environmental protection practices!
Treat national parks with respect. Always clean up after yourself and abide by the posted rules – do not feed the animals, keep food packed when in areas heavily populated with bears, etc.
